In a few months, I'm going to have to get used to terms like "step-mother", "step-sister" and "step-brother". How far exactly does the step-relative terminology extend? Am I gaining a step-grandmother? When my step-sister has children with my step-brother-in-law, do I get step-neices and step-nephews? Are the children of my step-mother-to-be's brother my step-cousins? These are among the many questions I'll need to answer.
